Romans 8

He never asked that we be fit,

Only that we be available.

He doesn't ask for the best, the brightest,

Only that we trust that to lift his standard in us, He's able.

He never required from us great eloquence,

Savoir faire or finesse.

But that we may through purposeful obedience, experience His peace, joy and righteousness.

He never asks us ahead of time,

To account for the souls we could win.

But that into open, repentant hearts His Spirit can pour in.

Me, you...disciples? Yes!

By grace through faith in Jesus whosoever qualifies.

For not in ourselves, but by His Spirit alone

Do we live life in Christ.
